Gaby Dunn is an American national treasure who has YouTubed, tweeted, podcasted, and written her way into all of our little queer hearts (we’re all a little queer, don’t @ me) over the past several years.
When it comes to creating content, the girl does not play. She had massive success creating videos for Buzzfeed, went on to grow her popular YouTube channel, Just Between Us, w/ Allison Raskin to over 725k followers (😱), OH and then Gaby and Allison wrote a novel together that made New York Times best-selling authors out of the both of them.
In 2016, Gaby started a podcast called Bad With Money where she gets vulnerable about her winding path to financial health and speaks candidly with her friends, family, and financial experts about their own financial struggles, as well as the societal conditions that affect all of our finances.
Earlier this year, Bad With Money jumped from your favorite podcast app to bookshelves everywhere when Gaby released Bad With Money: The Imperfect Art of Getting Your Financial Sh*t Together. I read the book soon after it came out and let me tell ya, you won’t find another personal finance book like it: informative, insightful, refreshing, and freaking hilarious. In BWM: TIAOGYFST (that acronym doesn’t work, does it?), Gaby chronicles many of her own personal stories, struggles, and triumphs with money, discusses how mental health is connected to your financial health, and explores all the ways society makes sure we stay bad with money.
In this episode of Content Is Queen Podcast, I talk with Gaby about the early days of her career, how she became the bad girl of personal finance via Bad With Money, and what changes she’d like to see happen in our current financial system.
